I Encounter a Grotesque Ghost

Hello, and welcome to episode 75 of my true ghost stories. As I was editing last week's episode About my friend Alice and her brother John in a ghost named Matt As I was editing that episode I got a message. I got a message from Probably St. Michael and the message was go to church. I Was editing that episode on a Sunday morning and church started in about an hour And I was getting a very strong and persistent message that I needed to go to church today at 11.45 now to be honest I Had until this past Sunday.

I had been staying away from church for a little bit Just because of a few things that were bothering me and I'm sure church goers can Probably relate to some things about your church bothering you So that's what was going on and so I hadn't been in a little while not that long, but I had skipped a few services But I remembered if anything even if that whole place is bothering me and the people in it are bothering me What I needed to remember about my church is that there is a big Portal there a portal that I have described in other episodes of this podcast a Big portal where a lot of spirits cross over and I am responsible for that portal and making sure that it's open and nothing is blocking it and I maintain the portal I've tried to recruit a few other women to maintain the portal, but I don't know if that's happening So as of this point, I am the only one responsible for that portal and I remembered that responsibility and I said Oh, I have to go to church if anything just to maintain the portal So I published last week's episode and I put my shoes on and I went to church I did not get dressed up. I just wore whatever I was wearing and I went off to church so it's lent so Church was relatively packed It's often not that crowded on a regular Sunday, but this Sunday it was really packed and I was a few minutes late Due to those mixed feelings that I was talking about a second ago Not so sure I wanted to go over there and so I procrastinated a little bit on my way over But I got there, but I was late and I missed the processional him Which was a drag because one of the reasons I do really like to go to churches so I can sing So I walked in and the processional him was Just ending and I got to my seat and as I walked through the crowd I remembered oh I really like coming to church Because I got to wave to all the people that I know who may have been judging me for being a little late But I don't care I was pretty happy to be seeing them so I was waving to this one and waving to that one and This is a church in the middle of New York City But this is a really residential neighborhood and it's a small neighborhood and so I saw all these people that I know at church I saw like The guy who runs the bodega on the corner. I saw teachers from the elementary school I saw my next door neighbors. I saw my former next door neighbors. I saw my daughter's friends parents I saw my daughter's basketball coach from when she was a kid Stuff like that and I know all these people and so I was just waving and waving and waving and by the time I got to my seat I was very happy that I had come to church But I sat down and I was waiting to see a Ghost or something like why was I called to be here?

Because it was a message that I got go to church It wasn't just a feeling like I got like oh, I should go to church. It was go to church Letting me know that there was some sort of task that I needed to take care of when I got there Besides just maintaining the portal. I knew that something was up But I nothing was happening. I was sitting there. There was no ghost waiting So I figured all right.

Let me just focus on the service and eventually Whatever it is that I'm supposed to be doing will make itself obvious So the homily was great. I Loved listening to the homily and then finally after the homily During the nice scene creed I got a tingling in my chest and As I got this tingling in my chest. I know okay. There's a ghost There's a ghost nearby a ghost is about to appear or something a ghost standing next to me So I looked around it and see anybody and then Right in front of me because where I sit is right in front of a few pews back from where this portal is that I've described at my church right in front of me under the portal appeared this ghost and The only way I can describe this ghost is Grotesque she was grotesque it was a woman and It wasn't like disgusting or or really scarier gory or anything but she was holding her arms like out to her sides and they were bent at these really weird angles and She was making like a a weird face and she was sticking her tongue out and her eyes were rolling around in her head in circles and She was standing in front of me in this mangled type of position with a mangled face not mangled in a gory way just Just holding it in this really strange way that humans don't hold their face. So something was really wrong with this ghost But she was under the portal and she was obviously Supposed to cross over now, but she was I can't say looking at me because her eyes were rolling around in her head, but She was there in front of me and that's how they appear when I'm dealing with this portal as they appear under the portal And then I'm sitting a few pews back.

So I'm looking at her and Nothing happened. I didn't get this feeling like I was supposed to send her up or anything I couldn't connect with her. I was just looking at her and she was facing me and Then she disappeared. So okay. I was like I got a little preview I guess if who I'm supposed to help today and I Waited for her to come back and she didn't come back, but then I noticed that there was another spirit and He was sort of standing at the end of my pew and he was not looking at me and this was a spirit that I know Now he I'm going to call this spirit Herschel and Herschel is the spirit of a member of the congregation Who has passed away and he was a very very Active member of the congregation of my church and he had passed away and his wife is still a member of the congregation Now that whole story of those two and his crossing is just a wonderful story and really really interesting But I don't have the wife who I'm going to call Karen I don't have her permission to tell the story So I'm gonna wait I told her if you ever feel like you're ready for me to tell the story on my podcast Let me know and she hasn't let me know yet.

So I'm just gonna say that her husband Karen's husband Herschel his spirit who I do encounter often at church was standing at the end of my pew And he was sort of looking up at the portal and he just seemed to be patiently Waiting like with his arms crossed to sort of hanging out Waiting for something So I caught his eye he you know I looked at him and I said oh, hello Do you have a message for Karen? That's his wife Karen and he said because sometimes he has had messages for Karen But in this case he said no, no, no, no, no, I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm fine That was it he waved his hands back and forth like no, no, no, no, no, and he said I'm fine And then he just sort of crossed his arms again and started waiting And I will tell you and it's okay with Karen that I tell you this that Herschel is a spirit that helps Other spirits to get through that portal. I can tell you that much So he was just standing there waiting.

I'm sitting there waiting I had seen the grotesque ghost standing up in front of me looking all mangled and I Didn't see her anymore and he was just standing there and so I said well, I guess I'll just you know pay attention to the rest of the service So it was at the very end of the service during the announcements Right before the recessional him During the announcements that the grotesque ghost which I'm going to call her the grotesque ghost reappeared under the portal and she just stayed there the Recessional him was short I Saying the first verse but then I put my him no way and I walked up to the portal because I had been called there with a message to go to church And part of that message had been me remembering that I have to maintain the portal So I walked up there and when I walked up there the mangled grotesque ghost woman was standing there still with the tongue out in the eyes rolling and Because I think these things work themselves out nobody was standing up in that part of the church It was it was totally empty. I mean there was people all over the church, but not in that little area under the portal So as I was standing there I didn't have to call anybody in any guides or tried to get this crossover started These guides appeared including Herschel the husband of the living congregation member named Karen Herschel That spirit was sort of he seemed to be like supervising her crossover and these three guides had come and the three guides were sort of I don't want to say wrestling because she wasn't resisting, but she was unable to crossover she was unable to go up into the light they sort of had her by the elbows and the knee and they were kind of like fumbling around trying to get her up through this portal now Usually these spirits when I see it, you know, they ascend with their arms outstretched and they're chest up and they ascend up into the light with the help of their guides But this was not going like that. This was a struggle This was a struggle as they tried to get her up the light remained the portal was open, but they were struggling and Herschel the spirit Looks at me because I was just watching this. I didn't know what to do. Herschel looks at me.

He says Talk to her Tell her to go with us. So I guess she was resisting So I I said okay, all right, that's why I'm here. I did not see how I was part of this team, but I said okay, okay I'll talk to her I Didn't know her name, but I was like Go with them go with them. I said you can do it. You can do it They're going to help you go with them.

So I started yelling these really encouraging things in my head Of course not out loud at church all these conversations with ghosts take place inside my head And as I yelled this in my head this ascension with these three guides and this mangled spirit Started to go a little quicker and stopped being so much of a struggle and more of just sort of an inching along up the portal So what was wrong with that ghost? I don't know She obviously was very disconnected very troubled and completely Unable to cross over on her own Without a lot of help from many guides and me And she was obviously lingering and extremely troubled That's all I know I don't get much information about these spirits I just am called to service when they call me and when the service is over I don't get any information about what I just did So I had originally thought that Hershel was there to give me a message for his wife and the congregation Karen But no Hershel the spirit was standing there at the end of my pew waiting He was waiting for the service to end so that I, Jennifer, could go help them with a ghost who was going to need a lot of encouragement And I do believe that that ghost could see me because when she appeared at the bottom of the portal She was looking right at me with her crazy eyes, but she was facing me and I believe looking at me So she could see me like all the spirits they can see me And they know that I can help them So eventually I looked up at the portal and this went on for a long time this struggle I looked up at the portal and I saw The ghost's feet just sort of finally slip over Into the end as if you were going up Through a hole that's exactly what she was doing and eventually it took a really long time It was not a beautiful ascension It was a struggling ascension, but she got there and her feet went up over the edge So after I saw her feet slip up there I said okay, it's all good and then I said to St. Michael who's always there Especially during this type of interaction I asked St. Michael If I should tell Karen The member of the congregation that the spirit of her husband Herschel Says that he's fine, which is what Herschel said to me when I asked him what he was doing You know did he have a message and he said no no no no no I'm fine. I asked St.

Michael Should I give that as a message to Karen because I don't want to deliver messages that aren't meant to be Michael said if you are talking to her alone And if she asks and she always asks if I've seen Herschel or gotten any messages from Herschel So I said okay that exact situation has to line up that I'm talking to Karen and she asks if there are any messages from Herschel Then I will tell her But this was not a message for her. This would just be some information about Herschel that Herschel is okay But When I turned around to walk back through the pews and down the aisle I saw that Karen was talking to a mom and her young daughter and I walked past them and she said oh hello Jennifer this isn't she introduced me to the mom and the daughter And this was obviously not an appropriate time to tell her that I had seen the spirit of her Husband a minute ago. So I just Said okay. I am not meant to give for this information And then I was invited to fellowship In the community room and I went down to the community room for a few minutes and I had to play to fruit And I said hello to a few people, but there was a same Patrick's Day parade going on In the neighborhood and I really wanted to go to that same Patrick's Day parade and say hello to other acquaintances of mine Which is a big deal and so it is really is a small town here in the middle of New York City I headed up to the parade I had to walk because there's no parking and That grotesque ghost woman lingered in my thoughts for a little while I had not seen a ghost looking like that before and if I wasn't so Confident in St. Michael and all the powers that be I think I would have been scared of this ghost, but I wasn't because I have faith and I had a job to do and the image of the mangled ghost woman quickly faded into a day's work and that satisfied feeling of being part of a supernatural team Thank you for listening to today's episode if you enjoy my storytelling style You can subscribe to the patreon where I tell interesting stories of my life in New York City and beyond and if you have enjoyed This episode of my true ghost stories, please take a second to review subscribe and share it with a friend to help the show grow And that's all for today Thank you for listening to today's episode and if you think your house is haunted Want energy cleared from your space or need a custom spiritual ritual?
