A Trip to a Closing Hospital

One last trip to a closing hospital reveals lots of paranormal activity. Welcome to episode 55 of My True Go Stories. As I have talked about many times and various podcast episodes of My True Go Stories, I have three daughters. And those three daughters were all little babies at one time, and they were all born in the same hospital, this big hospital, in my borough here in New York City. Now the first experience at this hospital was pretty good.

There was a few things that didn't go so well, but for the most part, the care in this big hospital in my borough in New York City was very good. The second baby there, it was definitely declining. There were a few more mishaps with the second baby than there had been with the first baby. And by the time I was getting ready to give birth to my third baby, I knew that this hospital was not the greatest, but all my doctors were there. So I went there anyway, and this third experience at the hospital was so subpar from what you would want, from a hospital experience.

They forgot to bring me my meals, and then when I asked for my meal, they'd say, oh, sorry, yeah, we forgot. With no plan to actually bring me any food, they lost my test results, very important test results. The staff was unbelievably rude, and I'm glad that all my daughters look a lot alike, because this was definitely the kind of place where they would send you home with the wrong baby. I'm really glad that they all look like triplets born a few years apart. So it was not a surprise to me when I heard that that hospital was closing.

Something to do with financial trouble and legal trouble, and I can imagine, given from what the surface of the care looked like there, God only knows what was going on behind the scenes. So it was time for my annual mammogram, which I had started getting a little early in my life. I had started getting my annual mammogram at this hospital in their mammography department, and my doctors were still there, and I had trouble finding a new, I didn't try that hard, but I had some issues finding a new place to get a mammogram. So I just decided to go back to this place, even though I knew it was really bad over there, and it was closing because it was so bad. So when I got to the hospital for my mammogram appointment, I saw that most departments in the hospital had closed, and most of the floors were closed.

So I came in to the building, and they had like one lone receptionist at this huge desk, where there used to be all these receptionists. There's one lone receptionist. I said, I'm going up to mammography. They said, okay, take that elevator there to the, I guess like the fifth floor. So I entered the elevator, and I looked at the panel where the floor buttons were, and only three of the ten floors were lit up.

And so I pressed the fifth floor, and the elevator started going up, and as I rode past all those closed floors, I imagined how horrible it would be if the door was like open to one of these dark abandoned floors, and how spooky that would be. And I realized now, or I actually realized then, that what I was picking up on with this spooky fear of the door opening up to one of these abandoned floors, what I was picking up on was real paranormal energy that was all over this place. So I got off the fifth floor, and there was one other lone receptionist at a big desk, where there used to be lots of receptionists. And I said, yes, I'm here from mammography, and they said, all right, go down the hall to your left. So I went down the hall to my left, and there I heard lots of voices, not paranormal voices, actual voices, which was kind of a bad sign, because that meant that the waiting room for these mammograms was really fall.

So when I entered the door, I saw that I was indeed right. There were tens and tens and tens of ladies waiting to get their mammograms, and this was a very bad sign for how long my weight was going to be. So they finally called my name, and then they gave me a gown, and they said, all right, go into that room there to get changed. But when I got to this changing room that they sent me to, I realized that this was one of the old patient rooms. And I entered the room, and the light was already on, and I went over towards the window, and then there was a curtain to pull.

So, you know, in case somebody opened the door, I wouldn't be changing right in front of them. So I pulled that curtain and got on the other side of it, and I looked over at the wall, and over on the wall, there was no bed in the room, of course, but over on the wall, there was still remnants of what had been the medical head wall, the thing up on the wall over the bed that has all the call buttons and things like that. Except this one was dark, all the lights were off, and there was disconnected call buttons, and all these things. It was really depressing. So, as I stood there getting ready to put this dressing gown on, I looked out the window, and I knew that I had plenty of time before they were going to call my name to get the actual mammogram because of that crowded waiting room.

So, there was a chair in the room, and I moved the chair, I moved the chair over to like where you would be if you were sitting up in bed in this room, and I moved the chair over there, and I sat down, and I didn't remember exactly which floor it had been that I had had a hospital room with my newborn babies in. I didn't remember which floor it was, but the view out this particular window was the same as that view, as that view that I had sat when I held a newborn and looked out the window, and you know, had all those feelings that people have when they have a newborn. And so, here, waiting for this mammogram appointment, I just sat there for a few minutes looking out the window and remembering all of that, and I was thinking about when I had a new baby, and then I was thinking about how sad this was, this dying hospital that used to be so full of life, and now just had these little remnants of what used to be. So, as I was sitting there doing this kind of depressing activity, I'll admit, I saw a little movement out of the corner of my eye, and I felt that vibration in my chest, that means that a ghost is nearby, and seeing that movement and feeling that vibration, it became clear to me that a ghost was in this room with me. And judging from my elevator trip that day past all those empty floors with all those empty patient rooms and empty exam rooms and empty waiting rooms, and all the paranormal energy, judging from that, this hospital was full of lost ghosts like this, but I could only help this one.

Now, as you all know, I'm not scared of ghosts, but I knew I was going to probably have to talk to this ghost. So, I stayed in my chair, I didn't get up, and I looked over to my left, and standing to the left of what would have been the foot of the bed was the ghost of a woman. And I just quickly got a glimpse of who it was, and she was wearing a white shirt, and the shirt was a little boxy. I just want to say it was like kind of square. So, I got the idea that maybe this was a doctor or a nurse, like this was a uniform.

But it also could have been a patient in a hospital gown, but I do believe it was someone in a hospital uniform, and she was just standing there looking at me, and I said, hello. And I just sort of maintained eye contact with her for a minute, so I could get what she was going to say to me. Sometimes it's not that quick, sometimes I really have to focus, and in this case I really had to focus. And she held her hands out towards me, and she said, please help me, they're all leaving. And I knew that what she meant was all the people, all the people were leaving, all the patients and the doctors and the nurses and the staff and the administration.

This place used to be bustling with life, and now it was just fading away. And this was so sad to imagine that this spirit was trapped here, and just watching all human activities slowly fade away, and this spirit did not know what to do next. So I stayed there in my chair looking at this spirit who seemed to be standing at the end of what would have been a hospital bed. I told her that I could help her to move on, I could help her to leave this place, and I certainly couldn't help the people come back, but I could help her to move on to a better place. And she obviously needed to move on to a better place.

She was trapped here, and this emptying out of the hospital was a signal that it was time for her to move on. So we did this, me and this woman spirit. Now at that time, this was a little bit early in my spirit-sending days, I was still sending them up through my body, so I did it that way, you know, I channeled her, and I told her about how it's going to be better on the other side, and it's time to leave this place, and she was willing, she wanted out of there, because it was not like it used to be, and so I had her come in through my chest, and up through the top of my head, which I know now is not what I'm supposed to do, but that's how I was doing it back then, and it did indeed work, because she came in, my chest up through the top of my head, and she ascended up right through the ceiling, and I sealed up that portal after she left. I stood there for a moment, feeling her relief at having exited this now-sad place, and I sealed the portal, and I went out for my appointment, where I waited a very, very, very long time. I got my mammogram, the technician was great, the staff was not so great, but I got the mammogram, and everything was good with that, which is always good to know.

That is the last time I entered that building, not that I would have ever wanted to enter that building again, but it was indeed the last time I ever entered that building, and about a year later, the hospital closed completely, and for a while they kept the medical records office on the ground floor open, almost a year they kept it open, and then that closed too, and then the whole big building just stood there dark for a few years, and it was really sad to drive past it, seeing all those dark windows, and to see those front steps, those front steps where I had first entered the real world with a baby. So I had had a few life-changing moments in that building, and now the whole scene did not exist anymore. I recently heard that they are turning this failed hospital into residential apartments, and how haunted will that be? Thank you so much for listening to today's episode of My True Ghost Stories.
