Why does everybody keep telling me not to use that bathroom on the sixth floor? What is it haunted? Welcome to episode 60 of My True Ghost Stories. I go regularly to this one particular building near me. I go actually about once a week or once every two weeks and it's for my therapist.
Okay, there I told you I go to therapy. And every time I go up there, I have to take the train to get there. And by the time I get there, I always have to use the bathroom. And so I will go up to the receptionist and I'll tell her I'm here to see so and so for my appointment. And then I'll say, may I please use the bathroom because they have to buzz you into the bathroom.
But in the waiting room, there is a bathroom that is accessible from the waiting room that you don't have to get buzzed into. And every time I've said, or I could just use that one over there, I've stopped asking that because every time I would say that, they'd say, oh no, no, no, no, you don't want to use that bathroom. Don't go in that bathroom. It's horrible. They never said like it that it was dirty or disgusting.
They would just say that it was horrible and that I shouldn't go in there. Now the therapist that I see is part of a larger practice. And this whole practice moved from one building in another part of town to this building in this new part of town. And this building that they sort of took over, they really only took over one floor. And the building that they moved into is about 100 years old.
And apparently it used to be the overflow warehouse for a major department store that is nearby. It's just like two blocks away. And this building was used for like holding stock. In fact, right next to my therapist's office, there's like a ramp that goes up to a freight elevator that's been locked and closed for years. But it still has the remnants of what used to be a warehouse.
And although all six floors of the building have been renovated and turned into other things like this practice that I'm talking about. Apparently the basement is really scary, dark and dank and not renovated at all. And then there's also from what I hear a sub basement that is full of mannequins. Probably 100 year old mannequins that have been down there. And can you imagine how spooky that would be to go into that sub basement?
And I will never do that. And this building is most likely haunted. I did a little digging with the staff there. And apparently there is talk of ghosts in the basement and ghosts in the building, which is not surprising at all. There are stories of people feeling like they're being watched.
Stories of things disappearing from offices. And staff tells me there are some creepy stories about observing overnight security footage and watching the motion sensor lights go on in a sequential manner with nobody walking through the hallways and no one in the building at all. But scary basements and mannequin filled sub basements aside, the rest of the building is pretty normal looking except for the weird loading ramps and things like that. Otherwise, it just looks like a normal office building. It's very, very much renovated inside and not scary at all.
So recently I got there and there was no receptionist at the desk. And I of course, you know, I'd been on the train. So I had to use the bathroom. And so I looked at the door of that bathroom that they always tell me, don't go in there, don't go in there, it's horrible. And I looked at the door of the bathroom and I thought, I'm going in there.
I'm just going to do it. How bad can it be? But I was scared. Work sort of disgusting, unkempt, filthy. I don't know what was I was going to see in there, but I was afraid.
But my need to use the bathroom over road, that fear. So I walked over there slowly and I put my hand on the handle and it was not occupied and I opened the door. Greeg. And I looked inside this bathroom that had a big window at the end of it. So it was full of sunlight and it was completely normal.
It was clean, it was spacious, it was a single bathroom so there was no stalls or anything. And I thought, well, what's so horrible about this? So I walked in and I just took two steps into the room and I said, oh, that's what the problem is. There is a ghost in this bathroom. But I was not feeling any vibration in my chest.
I could just tell that there was a ghost in there. In fact, people who are not mediums often feel like someone is in the room with them. Well, that's what was going on here. So even though I didn't feel the tingling in my chest, I knew there was a ghost there and I also knew that I really had to use the bathroom. So in this otherwise empty room except for a toilet and a sink, there was a closet.
Yes, there was a closet that had like a little padlock latch on it, but there was no padlock. Just the latch was sort of swung away from the wall. And I had my backpack because I always bring my backpack when I go down there. In case I want to stop at the nearby Trader Joe's or something like that. So I took my backpack and I hung it.
I hung it from the little loop on the end of it. I hung it off of the latch that would have otherwise had a padlock through it. And I used the bathroom and I was waiting for the appearance of this ghost. And then I washed my hands and I was like, I need to address this ghost. I had a little time before my therapy appointment started.
So I thought, all right, let me just do something here. Let me see what happens. So I stood in the middle of the room and I looked around. I was waiting for the ghost to appear, but the ghost did not appear. And then I looked over my backpack hanging off of that latch and I said, oh, the ghost is in that closet.
Now I am afraid to go into a sub basement full of mannequins, but for some reason I am not afraid to open up a closet in a bathroom that I know that there's a ghost in it. I'm not afraid of that. So I walked over to the closet door. I took my backpack off. I put it down on the floor, probably, you know, but anyway, I put it down on the floor and I opened up the door to this closet.
And inside the closet was a big hot water heater. And I thought, okay, there's a hot water heater. Let me look around and then the tingling in my chest began and I said, okay, the ghost is in here. And so I had to really focus and get into the zone. And I looked down on the floor and around the sides of the water heater.
And there I saw the ghost. The ghost was a man and he was on his hands and knees next to the water heater like hiding. Like he was hiding. That's the only way I can describe it as he was hiding. He was so non-threatening at all.
I just said, well, what are you doing in there? What the heck? I think I said, what the heck are you doing in there? Come out of there. Come out of there.
And so he did not stand up. He crawled. This ghost crawled out of the bathroom into the middle of the bathroom floor. And then St. Michael came in, who I remembered to call and I said, okay, Michael, what should I tell him to do?
And Michael said, tell him to stand up. And Michael had to tell me to tell him to stand up because these ghosts can only see me, not St. Michael or any other guides. So I turned to the ghost who was still there on his hands and knees and I said, in a friendly voice because this ghost was obviously scared and confused. I said, okay, now stand up.
So we stood up and it took a long time for him to stand up and it turned out that he was a really tall man and the standing up took a long time for him to reach his full height. And by the time he reached his full height, the vibration in my chest was very, very strong. Which in part tells me that it's time for this spirit to ascend and it's sort of that energy kicking in to help them to ascend. And I looked over at St. Michael and St.
Michael hardly said anything. It was just like he was just there to support this whole thing. And so I looked at the man. I didn't ask him his name. I just looked at this tall ghost who was standing in front of me in this bathroom.
Almost ready to ascend right through that ceiling. And as I looked at him, he ascended right through the ceiling. He ascended. And it seemed like for some reason this ghost was trapped in that closet or was hiding in this closet. And I somehow encouraged him to come out or gave him the courage to come out.
I don't know. But it seemed like what he needed to do was actually stand up and reach his full height. And once he did that, it was like he was almost there. So after he ascended through the ceiling, the vibration in my chest just kept going. It was really, really strong.
The vibration was so strong that it remained after this ghost had ascended. And I'm usually able to calm it down myself, but I had to ask St. Michael to remove the vibration for me so I could go on with my day. After I had come down for a second, I went over and I sealed the portal, which is what I always do after a ghost descends. We don't need to leave a hole between this side and the other side.
Later, after I had finished my therapy session, I went home and I immediately contacted a friend of mine who happens to work in that building. I told her about the ghost that I had seen in the bathroom, the bathroom that was called horrible on the sixth floor. And she said that she would go and check with the building manager and find out if there are indeed any ghosts in this building. And this is the story that she came back with. Apparently, many years ago, there was a custodian that worked there.
And the custodian had passed away in the building. And he had passed away in some area of the building that it took them three days to find him. His family had reported him missing. And there had been searches of the building and they found him in some remote area of the building. I guess since he was the custodian, he would go into these remote areas and he had passed away.
The building manager didn't know how this man had died, just that he had died in the building and it had taken some time for them to find his body. So I'm pretty sure that the man that I saw trapped in that water heater closet was this trapped custodian. And maybe since his family couldn't find him right away, his body had remained trapped in the building. But so had his soul. It must have been very confusing to not have any loved ones around him after he had passed away.
And it's such a sad story. And the building manager that my friend talked to does not know how long ago this happened. Just that it happened. So it was a very sad story that this man had died in the building and that they couldn't find his body and that I believe his soul was trapped there. And I'm glad that I got to help him finally cross over.
And I believe that the vibration of my chest in the bathroom after sending him up lasted for so long because there are many ghosts in this 100 year old building. And I think that I'm going to have a chance to help a lot of them because I'll be going to that building a lot because I'll be going to therapy. And if I'm not going to therapy, I'm going to go visit my friend in that building. So I think I'm going to have the opportunity to help many ghosts from there. But I'm not going into the sub basement full of mannequins.
